Private HEI - Higher Education Institutes are subject to an increasingly competitive market. The search for strategies that add value to their products and services has likewise grown, leading them to seek information about the factors that attract students to their courses. This study aims to identify the factors involved in students’ choices of campus-based, postgraduate non-degree courses at the Universidade Regional de Blumenau, in the city of Blumenau. A survey was carried out for this purpose comprising quantitative research undertaken through questionnaires answered by a group of 174 students. The data was analyzed using multivariate multiple regression. The main characteristics taken into account by the students when choosing their courses related to safety, quality, the university’s concern with its students, the diploma’s perceived value in the labor market, employability, general personal reasons and the opinions that their family, friends and acquaintances have of the university.Downloads
