This article investigated how postgraduate programs in Administration contribute to faculty development (FD) in the field of Administration in Brazil. The research was characterized by being qualitative and descriptive-exploratory. It was decided to encompass four parallel and integrated research fronts with specific objectives associated with the general objective in an approach based on mixed methods. Each investigative front was composed of different actors and collections. This allowed the triangulation of sources to understand better the phenomenon studied. From the findings obtained from the analysis of the empirical material collected, it was noticed that the postgraduate programs in Administration contribute minimally to the didactic-pedagogical skill of the Administration professor. In addition, the current context is very similar to that of the beginning of this century, revealing that something needs to be done to change the worrying context of FD in Administration in Brazil. Adjustments in the evaluation metrics of the postgraduate programs in Administration, a greater number of actions similar to the program called “Pró-Administração”, and the creation of developing itineraries for professors emerge as catalysts for FD in Management.
