The paper aims to identify the scientific-technical production on the Brazilian Pension System at ANPAD (National Association of Graduate Studies and Research in Administration) events, for the period 1997 to 2011, and consequently determine how the pension system has been discussed within the context of administration. The methodological process used was meta-analysis (LUIZ, 2002), thus it is a descriptive study. By searching for keywords such as security, social and pension funds, 33 papers on the pension system were identified and their contents were categorized according to: annual distribution of papers and events, authors, federal state of the authors and event, methodological process, types of regimes, most cited researchers, publication in journals and social-security deficit. It was found that there are more publications in EnANPAD events, no predominance of any methodological approach and a greater focus on studies on private pensions. Overall, the results showed a lack of studies on social security in Brazil indicating that issues relevant to public administration need to be investigated further. The paper also highlights the main strategies used by researchers, guiding other scholars to fill the theoretical and methodological gaps in the area so that more studies can be conducted to support the government in making pension policy decisions.Downloads
