“Como uma pedra a rolar”: de ‘bico’ à profissionalização da GEOFORTES

This case tells the story of GeoFortes, an environmental and geological consulting firm. It aims to place the student as a decision maker in a company in the environmental segment. The enterprise is in a moment of expansion and the need to professionalize the business, improving the communication and organization of the activities developed by the partners. The case is narrated according to data collected in interviews about the situation the company is experiencing. The situations experienced by the leaders, together with the related theories, will serve as a basis for the analysis of the facts, directing the possibilities for solving the problem. The case analysis will help the student to approach a professional situation and apply the concepts related to the professionalization of a small business, considering the particularities of MSEs and entrepreneurs. The case can be applied to Entrepreneurship and Small Business Management disciplines in undergraduate and graduate courses.
