The aim of this study was to analyze the use and mastery of active methodologies by professors in undergraduate management programs, as well as the contribution of using active methodologies in the development of students' competencies. The quantitative research was conducted with professors from Management undergraduates Courses at three Brazilian universities, two located in the Northeast and one in the South of Brazil. Data collection was carried out using a structured questionnaire, with the participation of 73 professors. Descriptive and non-parametric statistical methods were used for data analysis. The results revealed that the level of mastery of active methodologies is higher than their usage in the classroom. When analyzing the use levels by the surveyed universities, a high similarity in the use of active methodologies was observed. However, regarding the levels of mastery, it was found that only the active methodologies of Dynamic Conceptual Maps and News Panels showed significant differences between the institutions. Regarding the contribution of the use of active methodologies in the development of competencies, the research results revealed high averages. A study should be conducted with students to capture their perception of the contribution of active methodologies in developing competencies.
