The use of triangulation in qualitative studies in the area of Administration has been seen as a procedure related to methodological rigor and to increase the quality of research, including theses and dissertations. Nevertheless, due to the diverse possibilities of employing it, the design and practice of triangulation appear to be still not fully understood. In this sense, this study aimed to identify, analyze and exemplify the use of triangulation in theses and dissertations of the Administration area in Brazil. From the works found in the thesis and dissertations database of CAPES, the work was analyzed, initially trying to identify the methodologies used in the studies and later trying to analyze and exemplify the use of the different types of triangulation. The results show that it is possible to find, in the scope of Brazilian theses and dissertations in the area of administration, the use of all typologies (among methods, intra-method, data, theories and researchers) present in the literature, with a predominance of triangulation between methods. On the other hand, the scarce use of triangulation of theories was identified. It is concluded that triangulation is a procedure that has contributed to the scientific rigor in theses and dissertations, and made possible the extension of the understanding of various themes and phenomena in the area of Administration in the country.
